THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Comcast SportsNet yesterday announced all but two Washington Wizards games will be televised this season, including the entire preseason.

The completion of the local television slate for the Wizards was delayed by more than two months because of uncertainty with the NHL’s labor situation. But with the NHL lockout keeping hockey out of action indefinitely, CSN compiled a TV schedule that puts almost every Wizards game on the network. CSN will air all six preseason games and 64 regular season games.

Ten Wizards games will air on WBDC (Channel 50), and six will air on NewsChannel 8. CSN produces the WBDC and NewsChannel 8 games. The first preseason game is Oct.12 at Philadelphia, and the regular-season opener Nov.3 at Memphis. Steve Buckhantz and Phil Chenier again will be the announcers. The two games not on the Wizards TV schedule — April 3 against Indiana and April 17 against Charlotte — are in exclusive national TV windows

“With the hockey situation being what it is, this schedule does allow us to pick up some additional games that might otherwise run into time conflicts,” CSN spokesman Chris Helein said. —
