Yesterday at MCI Center

Record for the Wizards this season in homestands of four games or more.

“It’s almost like the basketball gods were looking out after us.”

— Wizards coach Eddie Jordan on Antawn Jamison’s game-winning basket.

RAPPER’S DELIGHT: Bobcats part-owner and rap star Nelly had seats along the baseline and yelled “Don’t” when the Wizards attempted free throws, prompting smiles and laughs from Washington’s players. Jamison even smiled and said “He got me” after missing one with 3:36 to play.

PEELER BACK: Washington activated guard Anthony Peeler before the game. Peeler had been on the injured list since April5 with right knee tendinitis. Forward Damone Brown was placed on the injured list with right shoulder tendinitis.

STREAK HALTED: Michael Ruffin lost his chance to become the only Wizard to appear in all 82 games this season. Ruffin missed the game with a sore heel. He is expected to play tomorrow at New Jersey.
