OPENER SET: The Washington Wizards will open their first-round playoff series against Chicago on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The Wizards’ first playoff game since the Bulls defeated them 96-95 on April 30, 1997 to finish a three-game sweep will be carried by nationally TNT. Locally, the game can be seen on Comcast SportsNet.

Head to headache: Although Washington’s Gilbert Arenas was 3-2 in head-to-head meetings with the Nets’ Jason Kidd, Kidd dominated the statistical battle. Kidd had averaged more points (27.6 to 13.6), more assists (9.6 to 3.0), more rebounds (7.2 to 3.8) and more steals (2.6 to 1.6).
