How did you get started in real estate? Real estate has always been a passion of mine. I guess I really got started when I was in college. I’d come home from school for vacations and spend entire Sundays poring over the paper and plotting tour routes for open houses in my hometown. This was in an effort to help friends and relatives find properties.

How long with the current company? Less than a year

Licenses and designations: Real estate sales in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia

Associations: Women in Cable and Telecommunications, Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Havingmy daughter introduced to President Bush

What is your area of specialty? Bethesda and Kensington

Most memorable house: A true fixer-upper in Montgomery County that sold “as is” under multiple contract offers. This home had nothing going for it but location and potential. However, I could see all the possibilities it had to offer, especially to a first-time buyer. It needed everything from a new dishwasher to new appliances, paint and carpeting throughout, as well as a new front door. As expected, there were many interested buyers because of the house’s being priced to sell and being located in an ideal area.

Worst experience: Walking into my dream house and realizing that I could only afford to buy one-fourth of it — until I spoke with my lender, who introduced me to a number of new financing products now available. So I bought it.

Family: Married, two daughters

Education: Bachelor of science in business administration, University of Richmond, 1987. Commissioned an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve, May 1987. Spent eight years in Army and received an honorable discharge.

Community affiliations/ community service/outside interests: Girl Scouts assistant leader; member, Little Flower Church; Woodacres School volunteer; tennis; golf; member, Bretton Woods Recreational Center

Last book read: “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent,” by Gary Keller

Last movie seen:”Racing Stripes”

What kind of car do you drive? BMW convertible

What is your personal dream house? A spacious, comfortable, inviting Victorian home in a safe neighborhood of houses with lovely curb appeal, well-landscaped yards and within walking distance of a quaint village with excellent schools and where everyone knows your name.
