Members of the National Capital Model Soldiers Society work hard to bring lifelike detail to their scale models of medieval knights, samurai warriors, Revolutionary War figures and Civil War heroes.

The public can see the results this weekend at their annual Washington show.

The show takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Northern Virginia Community College’s Annandale Campus, 8833 Little River Turnpike. Admission is $10 for exhibitors and $7 for visitors 12 and older.

The show features competitions for best miniatures in a variety of categories by age group and type of figure, along with clinics on model building and painting from NCMSS members. About 40 dealers are expected to offer their wares.

For more information or directions to the show, see www.geocities.com/ncmss/2show.html.
