How did you get started in real estate? I sold my printing company in 1988 and had a two-year noncompetitive agreement, so I decided to “play” with real estate for two years then get back into printing. But once I got into real estate and loved it, I never went back to printing.

How long with the current company? Since April 2004

Licenses and designations: Maryland real estate broker; D.C. real estate broker; certified residential specialist; graduate, Realtor institute; accredited buyer representative; real estate cyberspace specialist

Associations: Prince George’s County Association of Realtors, Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors, Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors

Awards: RE/MAX Hall of Fame, Lifetime Achievement Award; Prince George’s County Association of Realtors Hall of Fame

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Watching my franchise of Exit First Realty grow to include 172 agents.

What is your area of specialty? Residential homes in the Bowie and Crofton areas.

Highest-priced home sold: $1,400,000

Most memorable house: A home in the Grady’s Walk neighborhood in Bowie, only because I have now sold it four times. It seems every time someone buys it, they get a job transfer shortly after buying it.

Worst experience: After having moved into a house I sold that had passed a test of its septic system, the buyer discovered that the seller had needed to get the septic system pumped out every two to three months. Normally, a septic system might not need to be pumped out for three to five years. This case is still unresolved.
