Due to an editing error, the opening paragraph of yesterday’s front-page article on the Iraqi election misrepresented the mood at polling stations. It should have read: Long lines of voters waited peacefully and cheerfully to cast ballots in Iraq’s third election this year, the most ambitious attempt yet to shift a Shi’ite-Sunni struggle from the streets to parliament.

Due to an editing error, Diana West’s Friday column “Muslims and media” misstated the name of IQRA-TV, an Arabic TV channel.
