How did you get started in real estate? My family has been in real estate development since the 1950s, so I grew up on many construction sites. My destiny was always in real estate, either selling or building.

How long with the current company? Less than a year

Licenses and designations: Maryland real estate sales; graduate, Realtors institute

Associations: Montgomery County Building Industry Association

Awards: Top individual producer for September

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: Creating a successful real estate sales business in coordination with my custom home-building company, K2 Development Inc.

What is your area of specialty? Montgomery County

Highest-priced home sold: $1,950,000

Most memorable house: I was working on a renovation in Gaithersburg on a 2,200-square-foot house that had been trashed by the owner. I had to rip out all finishes down to the studs and install all new finishes. I sold the home for what was then the most expensive price in the neighborhood by more than 50 percent above the last comparable. That was a nightmare turned into fun.

Worst experience: I was the listing agent in Mount Airy for a newly built home. The people were very nice at the contract signing; then, once the ink was dry, they changed, calling and threatening me on my voice mail and trying to get extra upgrades in the house for free. They also put sheets up in the window with some choice words notifying their displeasure to the public. It was a real surprise for me.

Age: 38

Family: Wife, Stephanie; two daughters, Hallie and Madison

Last book read: “The Art of the Deal,” by Donald Trump

Last movie seen: “Shopgirl”

What kind of car do you drive? Ford Expedition

What is your personal dream house? Finding a sprawling rambler in Montgomery County on at least half an acre, ripping off the roof and building up with arts-and-crafts flair.
