Last night at MCI Center:

29 Points Gilbert Arenas had by halftime, a career high. The most he had scored by halftime was 27 against Dallas.

The Wizards offense disappeared in the fourth quarter, making just five of 22 field goals.

Arenas and Antawn Jamison represented the Wizards at last year’s All-Star Game. But the pair aren’t fan favorites this time around.

Despite the fact that Arenas is fourth in the league in scoring (28.5), 16th in assists (6.1) and third in minutes played (41.8), he is only seventh among Eastern Conference guards in fan voting (119,201). Jamison is averaging 18 points and a career-best 10.6 rebounds a game but isn’t among the top 10 vote-getters among forwards in the East.

Both players were selected by the Eastern Conference coaches last season, and while Arenas is a lock to be selected again, the same can’t be said about Jamison, despite the fact that he is one of just 10 players in the league averaging a double-double.
