Because of an error by the Associated Press, The Washington Times yesterday incorrectly reported the provisions of a smoking ban approved by the D.C. Council. Under the ban, bars and nightclubs would not be required to install ventilation equipment or create separate smoking rooms for customers. Restaurants could apply for waivers if no more than 25 percent of their total dining area is designated for smoking.
