Last night at Littlejohn Coliseum in Clemson, S.C.:

23-point shots made by Maryland in 11 attempts.

Clemson center Sharrod Ford’s 25 points and 10 rebounds overwhelmed Maryland. He doesn’t get the attention of several other ACC big men, but Ford can bang with the best. Four NBA scouts sitting courtside certainly will put Ford on their watch list.

A small crowd for last year’s meeting was understandable because of an ice storm. However, it was a beautiful day, with local baseball teams practicing and Dairy Queens open for business. Yet, the crowd still was the smallest to see Maryland this season, with empty seats in the student sections and virtually no one in the upper tier. Still, the crowd managed to make some noise in the second half.
