Last night at MCI Center:

KEY NUMBER

34.6 Percent shooting from the field by the Memphis Grizzlies. In the Wizards’ previous three games, all losses, their opponents shot a combined 53.4 percent.

PLAYER OF THE GAME

Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas finished with a game-high 30 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and a pair of steals. Arenas, fresh off his first All-Star appearance, scored 13 points in the third quarter as the Wizards went on a 26-12 run to pull away.

SEEN AND HEARD

ALL SHOOK UP: Wizards guard Jarvis Hayes nearly missed the game because a pair of tires on his Range Rover blew out on I-395 near the Pentagon on his way into the District. Said Hayes: “Man, I’m shook up. My truck almost flipped over. I saw my life flashing in front of me. I jumped over three lanes and almost hit [an 18-wheeler]. I’m very lucky to be here.”

MAKING MOVES: The Wizards activated Kwame Brown and Larry Hughes and placed Juan Dixon (right ankle) and Peter John Ramos (right plantar fasciitis) on the injured list.
