Art dealer Ann Nitze lives in both New York and Washington, so it was no surprise that she and her husband, Bill Nitze, would be the ones to fete Elle Decor contributing editor Jamee Gregory in Georgetown upon the publication of her recent effort, “New York Apartments” (Rizzoli).

Though her Amtrak train was hours late because of Thursday’s snowfall, Ms. Gregory managed to make it on time to regale guests with details of the residences she included in her book, including those of Carroll Petrie, Joan Rivers, Georgette Mosbacher and other Manhattan sophisticates.

Among the design-minded Washingtonians who turned out for cocktails and autographed copies of the sumptuously illustrated book: Lucky Roosevelt, Ruth Buchanan, Joan Tobin, Aldus and Dolly Chapin, John Peters Irelan, Pamela Aparacio, Outerbridge and Georgina Horsey and Deecy Gray.
