Last night at American Airlines Center in Dallas:

73 Points for the Mavericks by halftime, the most any Wizards’ opponent has scored in any half this season.

With 7:16 to play in the first quarter, Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki scored his 10,000th career point on a 23-foot jumper.

Kwame Brown, wearing a walking boot on his right foot yesterday, will fly to Los Angeles to have his foot examined by Dr. Richard Ferkel. The tendinitis in his ankle that has kept him on the injured list for the last five games might be the least of his concerns.

Brown, who has appeared in 14 games, said at issue was the nature of the pain in his foot. He indicated it could be bone spurs — which could be serious trouble — or perhaps a cracked bone that has yet to be identified….

The NBA announced yesterday that injured Larry Hughes was named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

In leading the Wizards to victories over Portland, Milwaukee and the Suns, Hughes averaged 23.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 3.7 steals.
