The luxury of living across the street from the Court House Metro station in the hip Orange-line corridor of Arlington would be enough to satisfy many.

Strolling across the street to gain access to the entire Washington metropolitan area or around the corner to find sophisticated night life, tempting restaurants and abundant shops, plus the freedom of low-maintenance living could be extravagant for others.

For those with champagne tastes, Monument Realty and Capital Residential Properties have joined to create the 51 Platinum Penthouse Suites at the Odyssey.

Floors 1 through 9 at the Odyssey, at 2001 N. 15th St., have been sold out, but floors 10 through 15 are available for purchase.

Designed to give spectacular views in three directions, these upper-level floors have floor-to-ceiling windows in each residence that frame views of the Potomac River, Washington National Cathedral, the monuments of Washington, the Capitol or Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

These same views can be enjoyed from Club Odyssey on the penthouse level, which has an outdoor rooftop swimming pool and terrace, a pool lounge, a fitness center and the Platinum Clubroom.

Platinum Penthouse owners will enjoy hotel-style concierge services, priority parking in the underground garage and a business center.

The Odyssey has a controlled-access lobby, ground-floor retail stores and professionally landscaped parks surrounding the building.

The Platinum Penthouse homes include upscale gourmet kitchens with granite countertops; glass backsplashes; and Sub-Zero, Miele, Viking and Bosch appliances.

Each home has a whirlpool tub, a full-size Miele washer and dryer, Waterworks and Kohler plumbing fixtures, and high-quality lighting.

Some of the residences also include a gas fireplace, a Miele espresso machine, a wet bar, a Sub-Zero wine chiller and a built-in plasma-screen television.

Some include a balcony.

Two-bedroom homes in the Platinum Penthouse suites are base-priced from the $600,000s, while two-bedroom homes with dens are priced from the $900,000s and three-bedroom homes start at more than $1,000,000.

Various floor plans are available. One two-bedroom model includes a kitchen off the foyer with a central living and dining area separating the bedroom areas. This home has a master suite with two walk-in closets and a bath with a dual-sink vanity, a separate shower and a whirlpool tub. The second bedroom has a walk-in closet, and the home also has a second full bath.

A two-bedroom-and-den home has an open floor plan with a center-island kitchen, a living area with a fireplace and a dining area off the foyer. The den includes a closet, and the second bedroom is across the hall from a full bath. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and private bath.

A three-bedroom floor plan has a loft-style open center-island kitchen, dining area and living area with a wet bar and fireplace. The living and dining areas are enclosed by two walls of floor-to-ceiling windows. The master bedroom has a glass door to a private balcony, a walk-in closet and a bath. The second bedroom has access to a hall bath, while the third bedroom has a private full bath.
