Last night at Madison Square Garden in New York

PLAYS OF THE GAME

There were two highlight reel moments, both surprisingly provided by the Hoyas. On Georgetown’s opening possession, Brandon Bowman blew by Charlie Villanueva and executed an awesome two-handed, double-clutch reverse jam.

In the second half, Georgetown sophomore Ray Reed cued up a Garden-juicing clip when he drove coast to coast in transition on Connecticut’s Marcus Williams before whipping a no-look pass behind his head to Bowman for a jam.

SEEN AND HEARD

“ACC ACC ACC”: Chant which rained down on overrated Boston College when it was kicked to the curb by West Virginia in the day’s opening quarterfinal. The crowd was delighted that the top-seeded Eagles, who are headed to the ACC next season, wouldn’t be coming anywhere near the conference crown.

MARYLAND AT GEORGETOWN?: Lets see the Hoyas and Terps meet in the NIT — at MCI Center. Georgetown clearly deserves the home game. Why? Because the Hoyas mauled the same Clemson squad (75-60) that hung the triple collar on the Terps.
