Last night at MCI Center

Down one with 2.3 seconds to play, Gilbert Arenas was fouled by the Jazz’s Raja Bell. The Wizards guard made two free throws for the victory.

NEWEST WIZARD: The Wizards signed Damone Brown of the NBDL to a 10-day contract. Brown, a second-round draft pick by Philadelphia in 2001, was playing with the Huntsville Flight where he had averaged 15.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 32 games. Brown helped lead the Raptors to a stunning 84-75 victory over the Wizards on Jan.14, 2003. The Raptors showed up with just eight players and three of them, including Brown, were on 10-day deals.

DIXON STILL SHELVED: Juan Dixon, who has missed three of the last four games with a sprained right ankle, is expected to miss the next few games. “I came back too early,” said Dixon, who played 11 minutes in the team’s March16 win over Atlanta. “I have to get it rested because I can’t keep coming back like this, playing and then not playing.”
