Reston offers the best of both worlds, straddling the line between rural and urban living by providing a gleaming town center with shops, restaurants and entertainment along with plenty of woodland views and walking paths leading into deep woods.

Reston residents happily shift between sophisticated dining at Morton’s and shopping in upscale stores to jogging in the woods, enjoying tennis games, swim meets and boating on one of the many lakes.

At North Point Villas off Reston Parkway and Lake Newport Road on North Point Drive, Bozzuto Homes Inc. has converted garden-style apartments into condominiums.

This private enclave of 106 homes includes many residences with views of the trees, yet it is located within walking distance of North Point Shopping Center and within one mile of Reston Town Center.

Swimming pools, parks and tennis courts are also within walking distance of this community. Homeowners at North Point Villas are members of the Reston Association and therefore able to take advantage of its many recreational amenities.

Originally built in 1999, North Point Villas has been upgraded with all new kitchens and baths. Standard features include 9-foot ceilings, ceramic-tile flooring in the foyer, 6-foot-tall expanses of windows, a large laundry area with a full-size washer and dryer, and crown moldings in the living and dining room.

The new kitchens include granite counters, stainless steel appliances, gas ranges, ceramic-tile flooring and 42-inch maple cabinets. The baths have been upgraded with ceramic-tile flooring and tub and shower surrounds and cultured marble counters. The homes have individual cooling, heating and water heating systems.

Each building has controlled access, and each home has a patio or balcony.

Some homes include box bay windows and/or gas fireplaces and additional interior storage space.

Ample parking is available for the homes. Garage parking is available.

The one-, two- and three-bedroom homes are priced $359,900 to $427,900, with a monthly homeowners association fee of $235 to $323 depending on the floor plan. The homes have from 947 to 1,300 finished square feet.

The Cambridge plan, with 1,191 square feet, is priced from $409,900. This home has a foyer entrance with a closet, a central living room with two windows and an atrium door to the balcony or patio and a dining room with windows on two sides.

The kitchen includes two pantries and a laundry closet. The master suite has a walk-in closet and a large bath with linen closet. The second bedroom has a walk-in closet and private access to the hall bath.
