Dec. 5: The Capitol Hill Civil War Round Table will see living-history performers Bonnie Fairbanks and Pat Sowers depict Christmas During the Civil War at the group’s annual Christmas party, 6:30 p.m., Room 1300-1302, Longworth House Office Building. Information: Nancy Olds at 703/860-2838.

Dec. 20: The Lincoln Group of the District of Columbia will hear Michael Kauffman, author of “American Brutus,” at Fort McNair Officers Club. Cocktails at 6 p.m.; dinner at 6:45; program at 7:45. MARYLAND

Dec. 3-4: The fourth annual Dr. Mudd Museum Victorian Christmas, noon to 8 p.m. each day, will feature refreshments, Civil War re-enactors, music and a candlelight tour, 3725 Dr. Mudd Road, Waldorf. Adults, $4; Children, $1; under 6, free. Information: 301/645-6870.

Through Jan. 8: The Christmas exhibit in the National Museum of Civil War Medicine conference room, 48 E. Patrick St., Frederick, focuses on 19th-century Christmas traditions and covers the celebration of Christmas by both the soldiers in the field and their families at home. Information: 301/695-1864.

Through tomorrow: The Surratt House Museum features a photographic exhibit tracing the assassination of Abraham Lincoln from the plot to capture the president through the trial and the carrying out of the conspirators’ sentences. The exhibit is part of public tours of the museum, 9118 Brandywine Road, Clinton. Open Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. Last tour a half-hour before closing. Information: 301/868-1121 or www.surratt.org.
