Golf course views are among the amenities drawing buyers to the Gatherings at Lyndwood, an active adult community in Elkridge, Md., being developed by Beazer Homes USA Inc.

The gated, age-restricted community has been sited on a high piece of land in Howard County, nearly surrounded by the Timbers at Troy public golf course, which provides the green views and a haven for golfers.

Residents will enjoy a private clubhouse with a fitness room, a lounge, arts and crafts rooms and a warming kitchen for easy entertaining. In addition, the development will include a heated outdoor swimming pool and a tennis court.

Neighborhood shopping and easy access to Interstate 95 add to the convenience of living at Lyndwood, where residents can commute to Washington or Baltimore as well as take advantage of the cultural and entertainment amenities in both cities.

The homes are in eight four-story elevator buildings with stone and brick facades, an intercom system and automatic locking doors in the lobbies and garages. Base prices for the 216 homes range from $294,990 to $394,990, with monthly condominium fees of $407 per home.

Standard features include two bedrooms and a den or sitting room, two full baths with ceramic-tile tub and shower surrounds, tray ceilings in the living room and master suite, crown and chair-rail moldings and 9-foot ceilings. Each home includes miniblinds on the windows and vertical blinds on the sliding glass doors, 42-inch oak cabinets and a pantry in the kitchen, gas heat and hot water and a private deck or patio.

Buyers can purchase an additional garage space. Other options include hardwood flooring, an electric fireplace, a washer and dryer, a microwave oven, a security system, a whirlpool tub and upgraded appliances, cabinets and flooring.

The Aspen model, priced from $294,990, has a foyer entrance with a closet and a doorway into the kitchen. The great room at the center of the home has a tray ceiling and a sliding glass door to the patio.

The master suite includes a sitting area with decorative columns and a wall of windows, a tray ceiling, a walk-in closet and a second closet, and a private full bath with a large shower and a dual-sink vanity.

The Dogwood model, priced from $394,990, has a large foyer with entrances to a closet, laundry and utility room and the second bedroom and second full bath. This bedroom includes a sitting area at one end.

In the center of this home is a family room with a tray ceiling and decorative columns that frame entrances to the sunroom, which has a wall of windows, and the formal dining room.
