Dorothy Schick, 75, active Democrat

Dorothy “Dottie” Schick, former chairwoman of the Fairfax County Democratic Committee, died Sept. 20 at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. She was 75.

Born and raised in Arlington, Mrs. Schick graduated from Washington and Lee High School and went on to study at the University of Oklahoma and the Corcoran Institute of Art.

A fixture in Virginia politics, Mrs. Schick was a member of the Democratic National Committee and was host of the Mason District Democratic Committee crab feast for 38 years.

Mrs. Schick was a member of Beth El Hebrew Congregation in Alexandria.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Sonny; four sons, Rory, Wade, Kyle and Albert; five grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Tapalar.
