Spotted in the crystal ball: a rally of thousands on the National Mall to highlight the suffering of black Africans in Darfur, Sudan. And something … some angelic aura from the Spirit World … I can’t quite make it out … No, it’s a man, a mere human. He’s tallish, handsome, with salt-and-pepper hair. It’s … George Clooney!

Sheesh. It must be quite a lot of hard work cleansing all impurity from of the American news media and shouldering, along with do-good buds Bono and Bob Geldof, all the troubles of the African continent.

Where does he find the time, the stamina, the inner-strength, the moral vision? How does he do it?
