Larry Wayne Caudle, a retired warrant officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, died Feb. 19 at his home in Oldsmar, Fla., following a battle with cancer. He was 72.

Born Aug. 25, 1933, in Kansas City, Mo., Mr. Caudle joined the Coast Guard in 1955. He served at bases in locations that included Miami and the District.

After his retirement from the Coast Guard in 1969, Mr. Caudle pursued a career in construction and started his own company, Caudle Construction in Manassas.

Mr. Caudle worked for Caudle Construction from 1971 to 1990.

He was very active in the Boys and Girls and Kiwanis clubs in Prince William County, and was president of the Prince William County Builders Association and the Evergreen Country Club. He also was an avid golfer.

Mr. Caudle is survived by his mother, Thelma Caudle of Manassas; wife, Peggy of Oldsmar; daughters Candy Sullivan of Franklin, Tenn., and Linda Flinn of Palm Harbor, Fla.; son Larry Caudle Jr. of Manassas; and six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL 33760.
