Last night at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y.

Rookie Alex Ovechkin remains stalled in his drive for 50 goals (he has 48) and 100 points (he has 99).

4 Alexei Yashin, the Islanders’ $10million man, had two goals and assisted on two others last night, his first four-point game of the season.

Islanders goalie Rick DiPietro didn’t have that much work with 20 saves, but the U.S. Olympic netminder was there every time he was needed.
