How did you get started in real estate? I’ve always loved the real estate business. As a child, I looked forward to attending open houses and touring model homes with my family. After enjoying a long and successful tenure in the broadcasting industry as a senior account executive, I decided to apply the communications, sales and marketing skills that came naturally to me in a professional real estate business environment.

How long with current company? Since 2003

Licenses: Real estate sales in Maryland and the District of Columbia

Associations: National Association of Realtors, Prince George’s County Association of Realtors, Maryland Association of Realtors, Metropolitan Regional Information Systems Inc. Subscribers’ Advisory Council

Awards: Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. Silver Team member

Greatest accomplishment in past 12 months: Returning to assist my bowling team, 24 Carat Gold, in winning its first league championship after taking off the previous year for the birth of my second daughter. I was also able to increase my average by 10 pins from two seasons ago in spite of the year layoff.

What is your area of specialty? Prince George’s County

Highest-priced home sold: $642,000

Most memorable house: A custom brick split-level situated in a parklike setting on more than 5 acres of land in the Croom area of Upper Marlboro. Since the home is well off a main road, it required all of my marketing and advertising expertise to attract the eventual buyer of the home.

Worst experience: I was representing the sellers in a transaction and, on the Friday before a scheduled Monday closing, I found out from the lender that the buyers’ financing had fallen through. When I called the buyers’ agent, he said there was nothing he could do. The buyers’ agent asked if he could give his client my name and phone number. I was able to give the purchaser the name and number of another mortgage company. Although delayed, we settled two weeks later with the same buyer. Everyone was happy at the settlement table.

Family: Husband, Craig; daughters Michele and Madison

Pets: None

Education: Bachelor of arts in mass media arts, Hampton University, 1985

Community affiliations/outside interests: Member, Prince George’s County Chamber of Commerce; photography, competitive bowling, ballroom dancing

Last book read: “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent: It’s Not About the Money, It’s About Being the Best You Can Be,” by Gary Keller, Dave Jenks and Jay Papasan

Last movie seen: “Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith”

What kind of car do you drive? Mitsubishi Galant

What is your personal dream house? A home spacious enough to accommodate large gatherings with family and friends, a big back yard, and a recreation area that features a pair of bowling lanes and a dance floor.
