Fallen Biker Run set for this weekend

The Fourth National Fallen Biker Memorial Weekend Run will be held today through Sunday in Maryland.

The weekend events begin tonight with an 8-to-midnight social gathering in Waldorf.

During the next two days, events will be held in Cheltenham and then in Hughesville.

Run registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon rain or shine on Sunday.

The run will begin soon afterward.

18th Times car show coming up Sept. 3

The 18th annual Out of the Past Revue, sponsored by The Washington Times, is scheduled for Sept. 3 at Spring Hill Recreation Center in McLean.

The invitational event features many of the hundreds of owners and their antique vehicles that have been featured in the Out of the Past column by Vern Parker.

One locally owned antique vehicle has been showcased in the AutoWeekend Section each Friday since 1988 and any of those cars may be on display at the show.

Spectators are encouraged to attend the free event and see the vehicles they have read about in the newspaper over the years.

The show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be available.

Mason Dixon Dragway site of Ford show

The 10th annual Mid-Maryland Ford Event is slated for Aug. 27 at the Mason Dixon Dragway.

Registration is $10 at the gate, which opens at 8 a.m. The track is located at 21344 National Pike in Boonesboro. Spectators also must pay a $10 fee.

Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third places in 31 classes. The day will include a “swap, show, shine and drags.”

On the Streets show set Sept. 4 in Clifton

Custom Cruisers of Northern Virginia are planning the Seventh Annual On the Streets show for Sept. 4 in Clifton.

The event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., welcomes antiques, street rods, customs, street machines, muscle cars, classics and motorcycles.

Proceeds will benefit the Clifton Lions Club and local charities, according to the sponsors.

Registration costs $10 before Aug. 30 and $12 at the gate.

The day will include food and music, door prizes and “participant pick” awards as well as specialty trophies.

Porsche show slated for Sept. 2 in Reston

The Gathering of the Faithful car show, sponsored by the Potomac Region of the Porsche Club, will be held Sept. 2 at Reston Town Center.The show in the pavilion, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. will feature 356s from the Potomac Owners Group. It is free to spectators. Old 356 coupes, “bathtub” speedsters and roadsters, as well as later models will be on display.
