Today’s game

CONNECTICUT SUN (26-8)at WASHINGTON MYSTICS (18-16)

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Verizon Center

TV/Radio: NBA TV, AM-1260

Outlook: The best-of-three playoff series begins in Washington before moving to Connecticut for the duration. Mystics coach Richie Adubato called tonight “an absolute must-win” for his team to have a chance at winning the series. The Sun are 14-3 on their home court. Washington, led by guard Alana Beard (19.2 ppg., 1.84 spg.) and forward DeLisha Milton-Jones (14.6 ppg.) has won five straight home games. Beard was named to the all-WNBA defensive team yesterday. The Mystics should be at full strength with their defensive specialist, forward Crystal Robinson, back in the lineup. The Sun have a league-best five all-stars. MVP candidate Katie Douglas (16.4 ppg.) and forward Taj McWilliams-Franklin (12.8 ppg., 9.6 rpg.) lead the Sun, who have a size advantage with 7-foot-2 center Margo Dydek on the floor.
