All-GM show set on Rockville campus

This year’s All-GM Show, hosted by local Buick and Oldsmobile clubs, will be held Aug. 12 on the campus of Montgomery College in Rockville.

The 32nd annual event, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., will be held rain or shine. Registration is $15 beforehand and $20 at the gate. Spectators get in free.

There will be 13 peer-judged classes and five new awards, plus a best-of-show award. For more information, in Virginia call Mike Stilwell at 703/799-2904. In Maryland and the District call Cory Correll at 240/686-0229.

Springfield invites ‘Cruisers’ each week

Every Sunday through Sept. 24 a “Cruise-In” is being held at the Silver Diner in Springfield from 6 to 9 p.m.

All vehicle makes and models from 1900 through 1977, including hot rods, are welcome to participate. The diner is located just off Interstate 95 at the Springfield Mall.

Times car show slated for Sept. 3

The 18th annual Out of the Past Revue, sponsored by The Washington Times, is scheduled for Sept. 3 at Spring Hill Recreation Center in McLean.

The invitational event features many of the hundreds of owners and their antique vehicles that have been featured in the Out of the Past column by Vern Parker.

One locally owned antique vehicle each week has been showcased in the AutoWeekend Section on Fridays since 1988.

Spectators are encouraged to attend the free event and view the vehicles they have read about in the newspaper over the years.

The show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be available.

Waldorf, Md., dealer to host variety event

The fourth annual Mid-Atlantic American, Import, Hot Rod, Muscle Car, Motorcycle & Truck Show will be held Aug. 12 in Waldorf, Md.

There will be awards for the first 50 placers and other special awards at the show, which will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The rain date is Aug. 13. Sheehy Nissan/Mitsubishi Autostore of Waldorf is hosting the event at 2950 Crain Highway (Route 301).

In addition to the judging, there will be door prizes and a raffle, plus food and drinks available. Registration costs $20.

Fallen Biker Run set two days in Maryland

The Fourth National Fallen Biker Memorial Weekend Run will be held Aug. 18-20 in Maryland.

The weekend will begin Aug. 18 with an 8-to-midnight social gathering in Waldorf, Md.

During the next two days, events will be held in Cheltenham and then in Hughesville.

Run registration will be held from 10 a.m. to noon rain or shine on Aug. 20. The run will begin soon afterward.
