Last night at Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

BY THE NUMBERS

1 Time in coach Gary Williams’ career he has coached a game at one of his former coaching stops. Last night was his first trip back to Boston College since his stint in Chestnut Hill from 1982 to 1986. Williams is 11-3 against his former schools, which also include American and Ohio State.

QUOTABLE

“Well, I told them not to turn it over. That’s all I can do.”

— Maryland coach Gary Williams on the Terps’ ballhandling troubles, which included 16 turnovers and a season-low nine assists

PLAY OF THE GAME

Nothing encapsulated Maryland’s feeble first-half rebounding effort like Jared Dudley’s fifth-chance basket. The Eagles missed two 3-pointers and three shots in the paint but still snared a rebound each time before Dudley’s basket. He was fouled on the play and missed the free throw but scored moments later to make it 36-27 after another offensive rebound.
