What is your area of specialty: Northern Virginia relocation and new home sales

Highest-priced home sold: $1,785,000

Most memorable house: An early 1800s shell in Fauquier County that was being considered for renovation. I was looking for an investor interested in doing flips in the heat of our previous seller’s market. The home had been represented as being habitable, but upon viewing it, that was not the case. The renovation estimate went above a projected sale price. It was like walking into a time warp in the kitchen area — appliances were circa 1960 and there were no banks of wall cabinets or counters or other indicators of having entered a typical 20th-century kitchen. Unfortunately, the home had not been rescued earlier before the ravages of being empty and abandoned became irreversible, as it was beautifully sited on a 25-acre parcel looking out to the mountains.

Worst experience: A client was diagnosed with cancer during our search for a home.

Pets: Dogs and cats

Education: Bachelor of arts, Culinary Institute of America, 1977

Community affiliations/community service/outside interests: Sunshine Kids, a Prudential charity; hiking; fine wines; music, baroque to bebop

What is your personal dream house? A mountain or lakeside French Provincial
