Through Jan. 7: The National Museum of Civil War Medicine, 48 E. Patrick St. in downtown Frederick, presents a Christmas exhibit covering the celebration by soldiers in the field and their families at home, the Christmas tree, stockings hung on the mantel, 19th-century toys and ornaments, Christmas songs and early images of Santa Claus.

Jan. 20: The annual Lee and Jackson birthday ceremony at the Lee-Jackson double equestrian monument, Art Museum and Wyman Park drives, Baltimore, beginning at 11 a.m. Sponsored by the Col. Harry W.
