Last night at MCI Center:

Key to the game

The Wizards kept Kevin Garnett under control and never let him be a factor. The nine-time All-Star finished with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Key number

17 Years that have passed since the Wizards went to the playoffs in back-to-back season. It is the longest streak in the league.

Seen and heard

The Wizards probably won’t do anything before tomorrow’s trade deadline. The players who have been inquired about the most are Etan Thomas, who isn’t playing that well, and Jared Jeffries, who isn’t putting up numbers but has demonstrated a high basketball IQ.

“I don’t think we’re going to be doing very much at the deadline,” one team source said last night. “You never know. Something could come through and knock our socks off. But right now, I don’t think so.”
