Last night at Dean Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C.

KEY NUMBER

27.9

Shooting percentage for Maryland, its lowest of the season. The Terrapins shot less than 30 percent in both halves as they lost their fifth straight to North Carolina.

PLAY OF THE GAME

North Carolina already had the game well in hand in the second half when David Noel zipped a pass from the top of the key to the low post, where Tyler Hansbrough grabbed the ball and converted a dunk to make it 63-44.

QUOTABLE

“They’re going through some tough times, but he is a guy I have a tremendous amount of respect for. If you’re playing his teams, if they adopt his personality and characteristics a little more, you’ve got your work cut out for you.”

— North Carolina coach Roy Williams on his Maryland counterpart, Gary Williams.
