BY THE NUMBERS
3-1 Record for the Wizards in overtime games this season.
KEY TO THE GAME
The Wizards outscored the Hawks 15-7 in overtime.
SEEN AND HEARD
So just what is it that Wizards coach Eddie Jordan liked about his new lineup that included Michael Ruffin and Calvin Booth.
“One-hundred percent defensive commitment, a physical approach and 100-percent trust,” Jordan said before the game. “Offensively we see guys sharing the ball. Ruffin and Calvin won’t take jumpers that get us in trouble a lot. We are setting better screens and we know who the core scorers are, Gilbert [Arenas], Caron [Butler] and Jared [Jeffries].”
Jordan hinted before the game that he could change the lineup at any time, and he did, re-inserting Brendan Haywood at center and Antawn Jamison — held scoreless the night before in Indiana — into the starting five.
