Amman, Jordan, Dec. 30, 1998 (USA Today) — U.S. jet fighters bombed an Iraqi anti-aircraft site Wednesday for the second time this week after British aircraft patrolling the southern no-fly zone came under attack from Iraqi surface-to-air missiles…

“It was an unprovoked attack,” said Maj. Joe LaMarca, spokesman for the U.S. Central Command in Tampa. “We will continue to fly these missions as we have since the end of the Gulf War.”… Earlier this week, U.S. aircraft fired at an Iraqi anti-aircraft artillery unit in the northern no-fly zone after coming under attack.
