Location is always the first priority mentioned by real estate professionals and buyers alike.

At the Four Winds at Oakton, the location is two miles from the Vienna Metro station, with easy access to Virginia Route 123 and Interstate 66 as well as Fairfax, Fair Oaks and Tysons Corner.

For recreational amenities, the nearby Oak Marr Recreation Center offers a nine-hole golf course and driving range; an indoor swimming pool and racquetball, handball and volleyball courts.

The Four Winds at Oakton has more to offer than a convenient location, however.

This project, converting the former Summit Square Apartment complex at 3170 Summit Square Drive into condominium homes by Orion Residential LLC, is a cluster of midrise buildings that includes a spa with a glass-tile fountain and a fitness center.

The grounds have been enhanced with an Asian-inspired meditation garden, and the tree-lined streets nearby lead to two neighborhood parks.

Each building includes an elevator and refurbished siding. Each home includes a balcony or patio, a wood-burning fireplace, bamboo flooring, stainless-steel appliances, and granite counters in the kitchens and baths.

The foyer, kitchen and bathroom floors are 12-by-12-inch ceramic tile, and the kitchens have been updated with 42-inch raised-panel maple cabinets and pendant lighting.

The one- and two-bedroom homes have one or two baths and range from 707 to 1,470 finished square feet. Base prices begin in the $270,000s.

The Breeze model, the smallest at the Four Winds at Oakton with 707 square feet, includes a foyer entrance and a kitchen with a breakfast bar opening to the dining area, which is open to the living area. A balcony or patio can be accessed from the living room. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet and an adjacent linen closet, laundry room and full bath.

The Windsong model, with 870 square feet, has a closet and an entrance to the kitchen off the foyer, a dining room, a living room with a fireplace and a separate sunroom with a wall of windows. A balcony or patio is accessible from the sunroom. The master bedroom has a wall closet in the bedroom, with a walk-in closet, linen closet, laundry room and full bath nearby.

The Galaxy model, with 1,000 square feet, has an entrance into the open, combined living and dining room, which includes a fireplace and a sliding glass door to the balcony or patio. The kitchen is adjacent to the living and dining room. Along the hall are a laundry room and closet, plus entrances to the full bath and two bedrooms.

The largest model, the Orion, with 1,470 square feet, includes a foyer entrance with doors to the kitchen, a full bath and the second bedroom. The dining room is adjacent to the kitchen, and the living room includes a fireplace and a door to the balcony or patio. Adjacent to the living room is a sunroom with a wall of windows. The master bedroom includes a walk-in closet and a full bath, and the laundry room is nearby.
