1,007 Career points for Georgetown senior guard Ashanti Cook, who became the 36th player in school history to reach the milestone with his 16-point effort against Marquette. Brandon Bowman (1,520) needs 19 points to tie Allen Iverson for 12th on the school’s all-time scoring list.

“Steve Novak is terrific. When he takes [a 3-pointer], it’s going in. If you relax for just a second, it doesn’t matter where he is on the floor, it’s going in.”

—Georgetown coach John Thompson III on the Marquette forward, who hit six of nine 3-pointers.

“I feel like there’s more pressure in practice where if I miss, we run. … It was just me concentrating, following through, shooting like no one was there.”

—Georgetown senior forward Brandon Bowman on his eight consecutive free throw conversions to seal the victory.
