April 3: The Capitol Hill Civil War Round Table’s guest speaker will be Elizabeth Smith Brownstein, author of “If This House Could Talk: Historic Homes, Extraordinary Americans.” Her topic will be “Lincoln’s Other White House: The Soldier’s and Sailor’s Home,” 6:30 p.m. in Room 1300/1302 of the Longworth House Office Building.

April 11: The Civil War Round Table of the District of Columbia will hear Gail Stephens and Gloria Swift speak on “Monocacy: The Battle That Saved Washington.” Social at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 and speakers at 8, Fort McNair Officers Club.
