Last night at Scotiabank Placein Ottawa:

9,700 Unsold tickets to Ottawa games for the remainder of the season. Incredibly, the Senators have a season-ticket base of just more than 9,000 but do a huge walkup business; the team is averaging 19,569 — 416 more than capacity.

Left wing Jeff Friesen played in his 800th NHL game. He is two points shy of 500 for his 11-year career.

“I look at the stats and he’s got what, 37 goals? That’s incredible for a rookie.”

— Ottawa coach Bryan Murray on Alex Ovechkin
