Yesterday at Verizon Center

SEEN AND HEARD

Although it has been known around these parts for weeks, USA Basketball made it official when it announced that both Gilbert Arenas and Antawn Jamison of the Wizards were two of the 23 players named to the USA Men’s Senior National Team Program.

The two Wizards weren’t the only players in Verizon Center who got invitations. So did Sacramento’s Brad Miller.

QUOTABLE

“Really, I didn’t know that? If he’s got 100 wins, then that means I’ve got 100 wins because I came here with him. So where’s my ball?”

— Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas when told coach Eddie Jordan just had earned his 100th win as the team’s coach.

BY THE NUMBERS

51.2 Percent shooting from the field for the Kings. Sacramento made 41 of 80 shots but still managed to lose the game.
