Last night at Verizon Center:

As time expired in overtime, Boston’s Paul Pierce drained a shot with his foot on the 3-point line for a 116-115 Celtics victory. Pierce was only 8-for-20 from the field but hit his final two jump shots. He was 12-for-14 from the free throw line.

14 Points in the fourth quarter for the Wizards, a season low. Washington led by 10 entering the quarter.

“We doubled teamed a terrific player, and we made it tough for him and he hits a shot fading away. That’s the NBA. You have to suck it up.”
