How did you get started in real estate? My wife was taking a pre-licensing class after an unfavorable experience during our first home purchase. While helping her study, I thought it may be something I might enjoy doing.
How long with the current company? Eight years
Licenses and designations: Real estate sales in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia; “At Home With Diversity” designation; Housing Development Financial Professional, National Development Council certification; graduate, Realtors institute; Certified Commercial Investment Member candidate
Associations: National Association of Realtors, Maryland Association of Realtors, Prince George’s County Association of Realtors, Maryland/Washington D.C. Commercial Real Estate Alliance; National Association of Real Estate Brokers; Washington Real Estate Brokers Association
Awards: Distinguished sales club; Realty Executives International chairman’s award; numerous production awards from PGCAR, Realty Executives and Century 21.
Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: 2005-2006 president, Prince George’s County Association of Realtors
What is your area of specialty?: Developing Aging-in-Place (Independent Living, Assist-Care and Long-Term Care) facilities for our seniors and quality affordable housing.
Highest-priced home sold: $575,000
Most memorable house: The first house my wife and I purchased in 1977. The night we moved in we discovered there was no plumbing under the kitchen sink. We knew nothing of home inspections or purchaser’s rights.
Worst experience: If I had to pick one it would probably have to be my first home I described above. Selling it turned out to be just as bad an experience as purchasing it.
Age: 57
Family: Married; four daughters; eight grandchildren
Pet: Parakeet
Community affiliations/community service/outside interests: Evangel Assembly of God, Toastmasters, golf
Last book read: Bible
Last movie seen: “Clash of the Titans”
What kind of car do you drive? Mercedes
What is your personal dream house? I designed our dream home many, many years ago. It had cedar-shake shingles, a breezeway, a game room, ceramic tile foyer and a spiral staircase. The amenities are considered standard today, but my wife has made sure that those drawings have accompanied us to each home we have owned. I’ll probably have an architect bring them up to today’s code and have it built in a few years.
