Seen and heard last night at BankAtlantic Center

3 Goals in his last eight games for Joel Kwiatkowski, a former Capitals defenseman who was never a standout on the blue line in Washington. Now with Florida, he is being used as a forward. The move is paying off: Kwiatkowski had only four goals all of last season.

Alexander Semin, who scored eight goals in his first seven games, now has gone 10 games without one.

Alex Ovechkin scored in the second period to give him 12 goals on the season and points in six of the last seven games. He is on almost the same pace as last season, when he was named rookie of the year.
