Tony Blair is expected to to push for engaging Syria vis—vis the Iraq problem. Though at this point any idea seems to be better than “stay the course,” what are the chances that Syria can actually be a valuable participant?

Australian Prime Minister John Howard is probably right: We shouldn’t expect help from Syria (or Iran, for that matter).
