Does anyone else find the forthcoming book by acquitted murder suspect O.J. Simpson — and the forthcoming promotional interview with Fox — completely surreal?

“O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here’s How It Happened” — the title alone begs the rankest speculation. What does he hope this kind of publicity stunt will accomplish? Does he think it will finally bring to rest the suspicion that has surrounded him ever since the 1994 murders of his ex-wife and her friend? Does he think it makes him seem less guilty? Does it bring comfort to the victims’ families?

The whole thing sounds to me like a non-confession confession. “Truthiness” coiner Stephen Colbert ought to have a ball with this one.
