SEEN AND HEARD

After a 5-year relationship, Alex Ovechkin has fired his Toronto-based agent, Don Meehan, one of the heavyweights in the business. No reason was given, and Ovechkin could not be reached for comment. According to Canadian Press, the left wing’s mother, Tatiana, a two-time Olympic gold medal winner in basketball for Russia, will take over as his agent.
