How did you get started in real estate? Becky had been a recruiter with a large company and, with her sales experience, was looking for a new opportunity. She was hired by a successful husband/wife real estate team in 2003. At her 10-year high school reunion in November 2003, she bumped into Chip. They started dating. After their engagement, they started talking about creating their own property management company and spinning off their own team. Today, they manage 50 residential properties.

How long with the current company? Since March 2003

Licenses and designations: Virginia real estate sales; accredited buyer representatives

Associations: Northern Virginia Association of Realtors, Prince William Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors

Awards: Keller Williams silver achievement

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: We survived our first year of marriage while starting and growing our business.

Area of specialty: Move-up buyers

Highest-priced home sold: $800,000

Most memorable house: It was custom-built by an engineer and pilot. The house was made entirely of concrete. It was beautiful. Over the several months that it took to sell the house, we really got to know the sellers and buyers. Everyone was pleasant and professional to deal with. That makes the process much smoother for all parties.

Worst experience: Becky was referred to a relative of her brother-in-law’s to sell his home. It sold fairly quickly and all the contingencies were removed. An agent/friend was to cover the settlement while she and Chip were on their honeymoon, but the day before the closing — the first day of their honeymoon — the buyer’s financing fell apart. It put a black cloud over everything.

Pets: Black Labrador retriever, Sophie, 8

Education: Becky — bachelor of arts in classical studies, Sweet Briar College in Virginia, 1997; Chip — bachelor of science in industrial forestry operations, Virginia Tech, 1998

Community affiliations/outside interests: Members, Grace Episcopal Church; Becky — horseback riding, hiking, reading, spending time with family and friends; Chip — four-wheeling, working on cars, reading, farming

Last book read: “Q is for Quarry,” Sue Grafton

Last movie seen: “Any Given Sunday”

What kind of car do you drive? Chrysler 300C Hemi

What is your personal dream house? We just purchased our dream land — Chip’s grandfather’s farm in Warrenton, Va., and we look forward to turning the existing house into our dream house.
