The far-left America-hater Noam Chomsky apparently got an early Christmas present from Venezuelan demagogue Hugo Chavez.

From the Amazon.com pr department:

At the United Nations yesterday, Hugo Chavez, Venezuela’s president, gave a much-discussed speech to the delegates, at one point holding up a copy of Noam Chomsky’s Hegemony or Survival: America’s Quest for Global Dominance and suggesting that Americans read it instead of “watching Superman and Batman” movies.

According to Amazon.com’s Top Sellers and Movers & Shakers charts, some Americans have taken his advice to heart. Noam Chomsky’s Hegemony or Survival: America’s Quest for Global Dominance rocketed up Amazon.com’s Top Sellers chart for Books today, from No. 20,664 to No. 4, making it No. 1 on the Movers & Shakers chart for Books as of 1:00 p.m. Eastern. Amazon has not seen any significant changes in sales rank for Superman or Batman DVDs.

Nice.
