No Pedro, no Lo Duca and no Beltran? The NL East champion Mets likely will rest some of their stars in preparation for the playoffs.

Ace Pedro Martinez is scheduled to pitch Wednesday in Atlanta and wouldn’t be available for this series, anyway. Catcher Paul Lo Duca, who batted .410 in July and .350 in August, said last week he needs rest and will deal with a nagging thumb injury in the offseason.

Carlos Beltran, meanwhile, suffered a left quadriceps strain last Monday in Pittsburgh on the same night the Mets clinched the division.
