Corvette competition tomorrow in Frederick

A car show called Corvettes at Westridge 2006 will be held tomorrow in Frederick, Md.

Registration begins at 10 a.m. for the event at Westridge Square Mall on Route 40 West. The free show will award people’s choice and drivers’ choice trophies for first, second and third place as well as give out door prizes and goodie bags.

There also will be special trophies for merchants’ choice, farthest distance traveled and “most tricked-out” Corvette.

Jaguar car show set Sunday in Rockville

The Nation’s Capital Jaguar Owners Club will hold its annual Concours d’Elegance Sunday at the Rockville Campus of Montgomery College. This year the concours celebrates the club’s 50th anniversary. This is a JCNA-sanctioned competition and trophies will be awarded in all championship and driven classes. All Jaguars are invited to participate — there is a “shine and show” display class for every Jaguar, owned by a club member or not.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and judging at 11 a.m. There is no charge for spectators and there is convenient parking for all attending..

AACA car show slated at a Mount Airy park

The Sugarloaf Mountain Region AACA will hold its 37th annual car show Sunday at Fireman’s Park in Mount Airy, Md.

The entry fee is $9 at the gate, with spectators admitted free. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cars competing for trophies must be on the field by 11 a.m. There will be a flea market and car corral as well as contests and games.

Chrysler owners plan Sept. 16 gathering

The Chrysler Product Owners Club will hold its 13th annual car show Sept. 16 at Pohanka Chrysler/Dodge of Leesburg, Va.

The event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., is open to all Chrysler makes and models including Dodge, DeSoto, Imperial, Plymouth, AMC and Jeep/Eagle vehicles. The dealership is located at 219 Catoctin Circle SE in Leesburg.

The day will include special events and presentation of a dealer’s choice trophy, member’s choice trophy and a club trophy.

Edgar Rohr meet planned Sept. 23

The 31st annual Edgar Rohr Memorial Antique Car Meet will be held Sept. 23 on the grounds of the Manassas Museum in Northern Virginia.

The event will begin with registration from 8 to 10:45 a.m. at 9101 Prince William St. Trophy presentations will be at 3 p.m. Categories include classic/antique, military, foreign, street rod and modified.

Lucketts show slated Sept. 24 in Virginia

The ninth annual presentation of the Lucketts Antique and Classic Auto Show is planned for Sept. 24 at the community center in Lucketts, Va.

Gates open for registration ($10) at 8 a.m. for the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for spectators. General admission is $5. There will be a flea market and car corral.
